Nintendo is hunting down YouTubers who are sharing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leaks

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been leaked ahead of the game’s launch in just a few days, and traces of the game have already begun to appear on several YouTube channels. Everything from the game’s soundtrack to actual gameplay footage has been popping up on the video streaming service, and Nintendo is having none of it, laying down the ban hammer on a number of YouTubers.

Nintendo has sent out copyright strikes to YouTubers Dystifyzer and Crunchii, who leaked many of the game’s tracks on their channels. If these channels receive three strikes, they are permanently banned from the service. Crunchii shared on Twitter that they received 21 strikes from Nintendo, signaling the end of their channel.

Dystifyzer’s channel has met the same fate, and their channel will also be revoked in a few days’ time. Dystifyzer said they knew they were aware of the risks of uploading the soundtrack, but wanted to remain competitive among other YouTubers.

The Smash Bros. Ultimate leak is a sizable one, with actual pirated versions of the game and its data circulating the internet, making their way to Twitch and YouTube. Nintendo is trying hard to prevent the leak, but it appears the damage has already been done.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches on December 7 for Nintendo Switch.
