Innovative Family puzzler BRIX! Block Blast drops onto mobile devices

Mobile puzzlers have always been ten a penny, but every now and then, one comes along with mould-shattering ambitions. BRIX! Block Blast falls into that category, and it aims to inject some originality into the genre by introducing players to a unique mechanic.
The game is a block-arranging puzzler which takes the classic drop elements from Tetris and combines them with the colour-matching gameplay from contemporary puzzle games. It’s a system called ‘drop & match’ and it really sets the title apart.
Players can use this mechanic to combine blocks, rack up extra points and earn boosters that will blast them straight through to the next level.
“We didn’t want to make just another predictable match-style game,” said BRIX! Block Blast’s lead developer Bruno Marcos. “We researched a way to combine new mechanics with classic gameplay that people know and love.”
Developed by Genera Games, BRIX! Block Blast takes place against colourful backdrops and it gives players the chance to build and collect iconic landmarks on each level.
“We created this game with the whole family in mind,” Marcos added. “We wanted it to be challenging enough for adults, but easy enough for kids to pick up and understand”.
