Rejoice! Metroid is landing on Switch next week
Mighty Bomb Jack and TwinBee too
Over on Twitter, Nintendo has announced the next batch of classic games coming to its Switch Online subscription service.
On November 14th, in addition to Mighty Bomb Jack and TwinBee, we'll be getting the stone cold classic, Metroid.
This is obviously great news for fans, and I'd happily take any excuse to give the NES classic another go.
Though, if I'm being entirely honest, I'm yet to actually finish the darn thing. But now that I can play it pretty much wherever and whenever, I guess I no longer have much of an excuse.#Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack and TwinBee are coming to #NintendoSwitchOnline – Nintendo Entertainment System on 14/11! pic.twitter.com/MPk6qLysOo — Nintendo of Europe (@NintendoEurope) November 7, 2018
As cool as this news is, I'm still holding out hope for a Switch version of Samus Returns. At the very least, it would be a nice placeholder until we get Metroid 4, presumably at some point in the next ten years.
The Switch Online service got off to a fairly rocky start, with delays and questionable decisions around cloud saves. With that being said, I reckon adding classic games is a great way to slowly win anyone around.
