Hints that YouTube is coming to Nintendo Switch have surfaced on the Nintendo America website, suggesting that the app could arrive on the Switch as soon as this week.
A French website, NintendHOME made the discovery while browsing Nintendo’s website, spotting a suggestion for the upcoming app with a potential November 8 release date:
?Rumeur – L’application YouTube devrait arriver prochainement sur Nintendo Switch, plus précisément le 8 novembre si on en croit le site de Nintendo America. pic.twitter.com/NgvBhDJu1G — NintendHOME (@NintendHOME) November 3, 2018
Users on video game forum ResetEra have also chanced upon the suggestion over the past weekend, although it appears the ads have since been removed. There is no product page or any other trace of YouTube on Nintendo’s website at the moment.
This is all rumour for now. Neither Nintendo nor YouTube have made mention of a partnership. Hulu is the only streaming service available on the Nintendo Switch in the west for now. However, YouTube’s popularity among video game fans would make it a natural fit for the Switch.
