I love adrenaline. The kind you get when you open the front door in the morning to get the bin, not fully dressed yet, and you have no idea who's outside.

The kind you get when you've left food in the oven for too long and you're not sure how it's gonna come out. The kind you get from a fresh can of Red Bull.

That's why we're playing Bike Unchained 2, the latest game from Red Bull. And no, this isn't sponsored. I'd actually prefer a nice cup of tea. If any tea brands want to sponsor me, please hit me up on twitter.

For everyone else, take a look at these hot Bike Unchained 2 tips.

It's not a race, guys

The first thing to keep in mind when playing Bike Unchained 2 is simply that, well, it's not a race.

Yeah, despite the illusion of other players on the track, this really isn't a race, more a time trial with other people.

You obviously want to keep ahead, but the performance of others shouldn't concern you - only focus on keeping up as much speed as possible.

Keep speeding

And on that note, yeah, speed is good, so let's maintain it. You can hold the screen to speed down hills, making you go much faster.

When going up hill or up awkward terrain, you can tap the screen to start pedalling, which will take you on up, and then stop when you reach peaks.

When going off jumps let go of the screen entirely, and then hold on landing to keep the speed you have going all the way.

Tell tale signs

The texture of the terrain you go over will immediately tell you how to traverse it. You'll see a tyre track on uphill sections for example, indicating you should pedal.

Downhill sections should have a smooth texture, allowing you to hold and gain speed all the way down.

Meanwhile the jumps are fairly obviously posted, and sections of the track with rough terrain, such as rocks, should be pedalled through all the way.

Essential upgrades

As you progress through the game you'll be opening loot chests, either from clearing missions or free chests from the shop. Waiting for them to unpack is long, but they're worth it.

You can get parts for your bike, and with enough, each part can be upgraded, increasing your max speed and acceleration.

You'll need multiple parts and some cash for each upgrade, but the boosts to speed and stability are necessary in later stages, so get upgrading!
