InkyPen is Nintendo Switch's first non-game application and it's all about reading comic books
I just hope it's got a good selection
Ever wanted to read comics on the Switch? Well, you've only got to wait until November to have your dream come true as InkyPen's on the way.
You know how Netflix offers up endless streaming at a monthly price? Well, InkyPen does that for comic books, manga, and graphic novels. With thousands of comics on offer - over 10,000 actually - from all sorts of publishers and artists, it's about to be super easy to read some excellent stuff on the go or on your TV in docked mode.InkyPen is a new comic subscription service on Nintendo Switch™! Comic book and graphic novel fans get access to the full catalog for only 7.99€ / 7.99$ a month. While I'm not so sure about grabbing this application on Nintendo Switch (just because I'd rather use the bigger screen of my tablet when on the go), I'm all in for making thousands of comic books accessible internationally. Plus, with no risk of 'content piecemeal' it'd be nice to get some actual uninterrupted reading done.
InkyPen will be the first international non-game item to launch on Nintendo Switch. Maybe if it does well you'll get YouTube, Netflix, and more, but we'll have to see.
Subscriptions are €7.99 / $7.99 and it'll start distributing across the USA, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Russia, Africa, and Australia sometime in November.
