The final Etrian Odyssey for 3DS is heading westward next year
Etrian Odyssey Nexus marks the end of an era
Etrian Odyssey Nexus is headed westward early next year. The 3DS brought renewed interest in the classic dungeon-crawling RPG series, and Nexus will be the final chapter in this era of the franchise’s long history.
Nexus launched in Japan on August 2 as Etrian Odyssey X and plays like many an Etrian Odyssey game before it. Create and customize characters, selecting from 19 different fantasy classes, including the brand new Hero class. You’ll then explore sprawling, difficult dungeons, drawing out maps of the labyrinthine passageways using the game’s iconic cartography mechanic. The map-making has been perfected on the 3DS, as you use the lower touch screen to draw your maps. It's time to warm-up those dungeon mapping skills, the next installment of the Etrian Odyssey series is coming to the West! #EtrianNexus is coming on February 5th! The game sees the return of series mainstays like Yuji Himukai (Character Designer), Yuzu Koshiro (Composer), and Shin Nagasawa (Monster Designer) to ensure Nexus has that classic Etrian Odyssey feel.
