Etrian Odyssey Nexus is headed westward early next year. The 3DS brought renewed interest in the classic dungeon-crawling RPG series, and Nexus will be the final chapter in this era of the franchise’s long history.
Nexus launched in Japan on August 2 as Etrian Odyssey X and plays like many an Etrian Odyssey game before it. Create and customize characters, selecting from 19 different fantasy classes, including the brand new Hero class. You’ll then explore sprawling, difficult dungeons, drawing out maps of the labyrinthine passageways using the game’s iconic cartography mechanic. The map-making has been perfected on the 3DS, as you use the lower touch screen to draw your maps.
