Hearthstone's Boomsday Project is out next week, but if you're lucky you might get it early

Hearthstone's new expansion, The Boomsday Project, is out on August 7th. We've already got a preview up about it that you should read, but if you're lucky, you might just be able to play the expansion a few days early.

Blizzard will be hosting special Fireside Gatherings all over the world this weekend. If you attend, you'll be able to open your Boomsday packs early as well as play them in a unique Fireside Brawls. There will be over 50 locations hosting the event so check out the full list to see if you're near one.

You will, of course, have to pre-purchase the expansion in order to open them early. There will the usual 50-pack bundle for £44.99 / $49.99 that includes a random Golden Legendary card with the Mecha-Jaraxxus card back. But there is also the Mega bundle option that will cost a whopping £69.99 / $79.99 which includes everything from the regular bundle, plus 30 extra cards and the Mecha-Jaraxxus Warlock Hero.

Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project

This expansion is all themed around science and technology - oh, and bombs, a lot of bombs. There are 135 cards in total and you can see some of these cards in action from a Twitch stream hosted by the game's Lead Set Designer, Mike Donais, and esports commentator, Sean “Day[9]” Plott.

If you'd rather have a quick explanation from us on what these new cards might mean for the meta, our resident Hearthstone expert Matt Thrower has done a preview for us and everything. He's a good lad.

The Boomsday Project expansion will be out this Tuesday on the 7th and will be available for both iOS and Android.
