Taiko: Drum Master makes its western debut this fall

Taiko: Drum Master or Taiko no Tatsujin, the popular Japanese arcade game, is finally getting a western release, and you’ll be able to play it within your own home this November. The Switch is getting its very own Drum Master game in Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun!.

Drum ‘n’ Fun! is based on the arcade version of the game, giving players dozens of popular songs to choose from, including titles from anime, video games, and recent movies. The Switch version sees players using the Joy-Con controllers to drum through songs, and will support up to four players at a time. 20 different mini-games offer a variety of ways to play, and famous Nintendo characters will also be making an appearance.

This is the first time Taiko: Drum Master is making an appearance in the west since Taiko: Drum Master released on the PlayStation 2. In past Drum Master games, players hit a traditional Japanese taiko drum peripheral to the rhythm of the music. The Switch version will not include a drum controller for the time being.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! lands on Nintendo Switch on November 2.
