Fortnite's Playground mode is coming back this week

Fortnite’s new Playground mode is returning this week on July 25, the day after the game’s birthday celebration ends. Epic Games has been ironing out the kinks with the new mode, and will be letting players take it for another spin this week.

Epic will be sharing a full list of changes to the mode with its 5.10 patch notes soon, but the team did share a few of the changes they were hoping to make when they took Playground mode offline earlier this month.

Epic is hoping to implement team selection options within the Playground. There will be 1v1 and 2v2 matches, first and foremost. Players will also gain the option to edit other player’s structures and highlight their teammates on the map. A few other quality life changes that could be coming include aim assist for controllers, repairs to traps, and pickaxe damage.

Playground mode seeks to give players a place where they can roam freely and play as they like, be that experimenting with building structures or trying out new techniques with no pressure of time limits or death.
