Will The Boomsday Project, the latest Hearthstone expansion, be enough to pull you in?

I'll tell you what, I don't even play Hearthstone, but the name of the new expansion that's heading to Blizzard's card-scrapper might just change that. It's called The Boomsday Project. That is just an excellent name.

And it's not just the name that's sounding awesome. Take a moment to watch the trailer I've embedded below. It's up there with the best trailers that have come out this year. Honestly, it's awesome.

All done? Good. Now for some details. The Boomsday Project is set to come out on August 7th, so that's a lot less than a month away. It's bringing with it 135 new cards, which, let's be honest here, is an awful lot of new cards.

The new cards include nine brand new Legendary Spells, as well as some Projects, which are spells that might look like they help both players, but have a hidden kick. There's Omega cards too, which apparently give incredible rewards, but cost ten mana to play.

The expansion is also going to add a new keyword – Magnetic. That's going to let you merge together Mech minions to create giant robots that combine the attack, health, and abilities, of the minions you choose.

There's also going to be a new single player campaign called The Puzzle Lab, and while we don't know much about that right now, you know Blizzard is going to be drip drip dripping that info until the expansion comes out.

And if you fancy getting any of the new cards pre-ordered, there's an offer there for you too. Grab a 50 card pack and you'll get the Mecha-Jaraxxus card back as well as a free golden class Legendary. Order the 80 card pack and you'll also get the Mecha-Jaraxxus Hero.

That's a lot of information to take in, I'll grant you, but if you want more you can head over to the expansion's official website by clicking this link right here.
