The humorous strategic city-builder, Tropico, is headed to iPad later this year
Dictators be damned!
This isn't exactly the news I was expecting today, but Feral Interactive revealed that it'd be bringing Tropico to iPad at some point in 2018. If you don't know what that is you're in for a real treat, friends.
Originally published by Kalypso Media, Tropico has been redesigned and built for mobile from the ground up. In it, you'll play as El Presidente, the leader of the resource-rich Carribean island of Tropico. As well as managing its economy, you have to be aware of the demands of various other political factions while deciding what kind of town you want to run.
Police state? Holiday getaway? Industrial wonderland? Maybe a little bit of everything?
"With its delightful mix of strategy and tongue-in-cheek humour, the Tropico series has long been a favourite of desktop and console gamers alike," says Managing Director of Feral Interactive, David Stephen. "Re-imagining its gameplay for mobile has been great fun; we're excited by the results, and are delighted to be bringing it to iPad."
Given Feral's highly successful port of its ROME series to iPad and iPhone, I've got high hopes that Tropico will be a great addition to anyone's library.
Check out the short trailer above for a taste of what's to come. There's no release date just yet, but we'll keep you updated for sure.
