PUBG Mobile went ahead and unleashed a ginormous update over the weekend while we were all distracted. Update 0.4.0 introduces an Arcade Mode that is sure to raise interesting player antics, as well as Training Grounds and a bunch of other sundry optimizations to make the game even more addictive.

Arcade Mode is making the biggest stir, so far. The new mode throws you onto the map with 28 other players. All of you are forced to abide by one of six random variations—shotguns, sniper rifles, melee, all weapons, item heaven, or pistols. Yep, that’s right. In Arcade Mode, every player is forced to use the same weapon, which definitely livens up the strategy.

If you really want to hone your skills and get that chicken dinner in Arcade Mode, you can practice to your heart’s content in the new single player Training Grounds, which let you try out each weapon so that you can improve your skills.

The update features quite a few other quality of life adjustments, including new firing animations, automatically opening doors, and, perhaps most importantly, flipping tricks for motorcycles and Nitrous Oxide engines for the cars.

Update 0.4.0 is live now on both iOS and Android. If you can’t get enough of the technical nitty gritty, check out the official patch notes here. And don’t forget to check out our ultimate PUBG Mobile guide for all of the tips and tricks you need to make it to the number one spot.
