Fortnite's latest update brings us a new gun, double XP, and a 50v50 mode... eventually

A week after the last update, Fortnite's gotten another content tweak with version 3.5. There's a bit of confusion about the state of things on mobile at the moment, but here's what we know so far.

The 50v50 mode is back, bigger, and better than ever. As you can imagine, the 100-player servers are split into two and you'll be battling against half of the people. Rolling in on two separate Battle Buses, there's double the ammo available which means chaos is bound to ensue. It may be nice with 49 comrades at your back, but it won't be any easier.

According to Fortnite's Twitter a few hours ago, the mode has been delayed for mobile-users. We're not sure how long for or when it'll go live, but we'll keep an eye out. This is a little bit confusing since the updates notification on the mobile version does say that the 50v50 mode is live, so we'll have to wait and see.

You've also got a new gun to get to grips with - the Light Machine Gun. This thing'll fire fast, hard, and catch you from a distance, so you'd better be good at building. It's not all bad, though. It's seriously slow to reload, so you're not completely screwed if you're staring down the barrel.

Players can also get their hands on double XP this weekend with Fortnite's third season coming to an end in a matter of weeks. If you want to boost your numbers, now's a good time to do it.
