Don't Starve: Nintendo Switch Edition launches next week and there's a whole lot of surviving to be done
Find food, among other things
Yesterday Klei announced on Twitter that Don't Starve is finally coming to Switch in one big package. The Nintendo Switch Edition launches on the eShop April 12th for $19.99, but don't faint at the price just yet.
Don't Starve is a survival-based resource management game where your goal is exactly what it says on the tin - not to starve for as long as possible. Of course, it's not only dying of hunger that you need to watch out for. There are also Pig Men, Spider nests, season and day-based monsters, angry Beefalo, getting too cold, getting too hot, getting wet, going insane, getting caught in the dark, and much more.
The game's Switch edition features three in one, bundling Don't Starve, Reign of Giants, and Shipwrecked together in a neat package. On Steam at the moment these three together are going for £17.45 in the 'Alone Pack' bundle, so its asking price isn't horrendous and, having sunk in a good number of hours into these games myself, I know there's a lot to chew on.
One thing I'm still holding out hope for is that we eventually get Don't Starve Together on the Switch, maybe even with split-screen local co-op - and cross-play would be nice, too. Ahh, the dream.
