Cast your minds back to early February and you might remember we took a quick look at the retro platformer FOX n FORESTS. Now we've gotten a full stage to check out and I've got to say, I'm getting more and more excited.

FOX n FORESTS is a 16(ish) bit-style action platformer, and while pixel art may be getting dry for some, in this case it works like a charm. The two majorly cool elements in the game are the intriguing level designs and the ability to switch seasons with your magic crossbow. This means you don't just have to use your guns to beat the bad guys, you've got to use your head too.

There's not a huge amount of footage, but five minutes goes a long way and the developer has avoided spoiling a good chunk of the secrets and pathways, taking the quickest route available.

The level, Gorgeous George lets you switch between autumn and spring/summer (I'm not sure which), and the gameplay shows off just how the mechanic benefits you. Aside from taking on enemies, it also aids your journey environmentally, letting you reach difficult places and so on.

Though there's no release date for the game just yet, it's so far slated to come to Nintendo Switch sometime this spring. We'll keep you updated when we know more.
