Shin Megami Tensei V is finally in full-production and here's what we know so far

Recently in an interview with 4Gamer, Shin Megami Tensei V's Producer, Kazuyuki Yamai, confirmed that production has finally started for the game. Since Atlus is notorious for pushing on release dates and keeping things quiet, this is pretty great news.

Back in October, Atlus revealed that SMTV was coming to Nintendo Switch, though with no release date and little news on the potential exclusivity, it left us all with more questions than answers. All we knew is that it'd be built on Unreal Engine 4.

In the interview, Yamai mentioned that the demons you'll be fighting this time around will be built to meet the hardware specs of the Switch, estimating that the demon models will take three-times as long to produce than those in previous titles. While this means the game should look awesome, it also means that we're a while off from seeing it yet.

At the very least we know the game will be coming to the west at some point. Whether it'll be simultaneous to its eastern release remains to be seen, but since Atlus took the time to re-release an English trailer there'll definitely be an English version.

Now that it's full steam ahead for the Shin Megami Tensei V team maybe we’ll get more details soon. I'm not holding my breath though - us Atlus fans know better.
