Sennheiser MOMENTUM In-Ear Wireless review - "The best Bluetooth earphones for iPhone 7, 8, and X?"

Given that Apple dropped the 3.5mm jack on all iPhones from 7 onwards, we've decided to step up our game and review a bunch of Bluetooth headphones. We want to help you get the most out of your cash when picking the best for gaming.

For the purposes of this, Sennheiser kindly sent us a pair of their brand new MOMENTUM wireless earphones. These represent the upper end of the spectrum, with a premium design, sound, and price tag of £169.99.

If you really love music and want the absolute best sound while gaming on the go, these headphones might be the ones for you. Let's find out.

Look

The MOMENTUMs are minimal in design, so aren't really built with style in mind. They're hardly ugly though, and are fairly discreet. You can even pop them under your t-shirt or jumper if you really want to hide them.

You won't be embarrassed while wearing them though - far from it. The black and red cable combo, leather neck, and shiny Sennheiser logo all scream premium. It's clear you've spent a bit of money on these.

Ultimately though, you're not buying them for their appearance. You're buying them to listen to music and in-game audio in the most premium manner possible. It just helps that they're also pleasant to look at in a minimal way.

Feel

They are incredibly comfortable though. The leather is so soft that you'll never feel a moment's discomfort, and once they've warmed up you probably won't even notice they're there.

That also extends to the ear caps. They're very soft, and mould themselves into the shape of your ear almost instantaneously. Even during longer sessions, I never noticed a moment's discomfort.

Everything's in just the right place as well. The earphones don't dangle very far, and reach comfortably to your ear, and the few buttons on the inside of the neck are only a slight reach away. If comfort is important to you, you can't go wrong.

Play

But what you're really buying headphones for is the sound quality - at least if you're doing it right. That's where the MOMENTUMs truly shine.

I've never owned a pair of headphones that match the quality of the sound on offer here. When I first listened to them I was astounded. I heard instruments and parts of songs I'd never been able to discern on other headphones.

The same can be said for in-game audio and voices too. There's no tinyness whatsoever, and there's a warm quality to the bass. It never sounds overwhelming or drowned out. Everything's perfectly in its place.

Conclusion

The MOMENTUMs might not be the most stylish pair of earphones you can get on the market, but you won't care from the moment you pop them on.

They're just so damn comfortable and slick, and you can discreetly hide them among your clothes if you don't want them visible.

But most importantly, the sound quality is the very definition of the word excellent. As far as this reviewer is concerned, they're unsurpassed in the earphone department. If you're one of those that don't mind splashing the cash for quality, you won't be disappointed here.
