Webzen has been tweaking its mobile MMO MU Origin since its release in 2016, and this autumn another golden update has fallen from the Webzen tree, bringing fresh content to the land of MU.

The first addition of note is Ragnarok, an all-server arena battle featuring the top one hundred players from the past month vying to be numero uno. If you’re amongst this exclusive tier of fighting talent, you can join in from the 10th to the 16th of each month, 3.30pm-4.30pm server time daily. Win that coveted top spot and you’ll earn the MU Origin No.1 title to show off to your fellow guild warriors. Even if you don’t win, participating in matches during the tournament will earn you Ragnarok points, which can be exchanged for items in the Ragnarok shop. Ragnarok ‘til you drop.

Next up in the new MU is the chance to empower your pets with skills. Your companion creatures can benefit once they reach level thirty, with new skill slots opening every ten levels gained thereafter. You must have completed the Faith War quest to open up this new skill system, mind you. These skills add useful buffs, can be levelled up using Elemental Stones and come in three grades – Magic, Epic and Rare.

Perks don’t just come from pet skills, either. The update introduces Guild Temples, from which you can receive a holy blessing in the form of stat boosts to aid you in battle. Investing in your Guild Temples levels them up. The guild level cap has also been lifted from eight to ten, meaning you can pose an even more formidable threat to rival players and the monsters of MU.

And finally, if you’re familiar with MU Origin’s predecessor MU Online, Elveland might ring a bell. It’s a new area for characters 11 Rebirths and up, accessible from the main Map option screen.

No doubt there’ll be more MU features to report on in a month’s time, but until then, that’s that. You can join the multiplayer mayhem by downloading MU Origin on Android and iOS for free.
