The best digital board games for a spooky Halloween party (2017)

It's the spookiest time of the year, when all of the ghouls and ghosts come out to play and demand sweets in exchange for a cessation of potential violent acts of vandalism. I mean come on, who doesn't love halloween?

Love it or hate it, it is definitely a thing that exists. There's really no getting around that. But what should you do if you fancy turning your spooky halloween party into a spooky halloween party with digital board games?

Well I guess your best bet would be to read this excellent list I have prepared for you about the best spooky party games you can get on mobile. And then play them. And then bask in the admiration of your friends. Win win.

Pandemic

What's more terrifying than the spread of a biological agent that could wipe out the entirety of humanity? I mean it's not going to make for the best halloween costume, but you get where I'm coming from, yeah?

This one won a Silver Award when we reviewed it. It's sort of a strategy game, but there's a lot more going on here than that. It's smart, it plays with its theme brilliantly, and it's an awful lot of fun. What more do you want?

Forbidden Island

It's a game about a forbidden island. That sounds pretty damn scary if you ask me. It's literally a bit of land you're not allowed to go on. Halloween doesn't have to be about scary vampires and sexy werewolves you know.

It's co-operative too, so it's less likely to end in a fully-fledged fist fight. The aim of the game is getting four treasures off the island, all before you get killed by the traps that have been set there to end your runs.

Zombie Dice

A game that's all about rolling dice. But you're not the hero this time round, you're the brain-hungry zombie who's out to chomp as many brains as they can. It's simple to pick up and play, and the mobile version is easy enough on the eye.

There's a good-deal of luck pushing here, but that's half the fun. And since you're playing against your friends, it makes for a super engaging experience of shouting swearwords at the top of your voice when it all goes wrong.
