You know EVE Online? The massively multiplayer, persistent world online RPG space shooter game? You've surely heard of it even if you're not a PC gamer, because it's been around since 2003, has picked up a few awards, and has spawned spin-off novels and a huge community. There's a VR game called EVE Valkyrie set in the universe too.
Well, it's coming to mobile.
EVE Vegas 2017 is happening right now, and the news comes from there. It was just announced by Finnish studio PlayRaven that they're working with EVE makers CCP. They're developing Project Aurora, a brand new free-to-play mobile game for iOS and Android set in the EVE universe.
In Project Aurora, "players must work together to dominate the center of the galaxy, and become the most powerful corporation in the universe. Project Aurora will be a massively multiplayer mobile universe, filled with epic player stories." Nicely said, official press release.
The full launch will come in 2018 although you can expect a soft launch in a "limited number of territories" before then.
You can read quotes about the project from the business folk at PlayRaven and CCP Games over at our trade-facing sister site PocketGamer.biz.
