That's four more than I've got

You're going to need 4 Amiibo to get all the content in 3DS remake Metroid: Samus Returns

If you want to unlock everything in Metroid: Samus Returns, the upcoming 3DS remake of Metroid 2, you're going to have to buy yourself some Amiibo.

Speaking to Eurogamer, a Nintendo spokesperson confirmed that to unlock certain non-essential items in the game, you're going to need to use some of Nintendo's smart little toys.

There are two new Amiibo releasing with the game. Samus Aran, which features the game's heroine crouched and ready, will get you an extra energy tank, and unlock some concept art once you've finished the game.

The squidgy Metroid figure will show you where nearby Metroids are, as well as unlocking a Fusion difficulty mode once you've polished off the game. This will let you wear the suit from Metroid Fusion.

The two Smash Bros. Amiibo that are already out in the wild will also get you new stuff. Regular Samus bags you a missile tank when you've finished the game, as well as more concept art.

Zero Suit Samus gives you another energy tank, as well as letting you listen to the Samus Returns soundtrack.

So if you want everything in the game, you're going to have to fork out for four Amiibo. That's going to set you back about £45. Which is roughly how much the game is going to cost. Cool, right?
