App Army Assemble: Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow - The Simpsons: Tapped Out all over again?

Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow is a hybrid city management simulator and 16bit RPG by TinyCo. You know, the guys behind The Simpsons: Tapped Out and Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff.

You'll build your own version of New New York full of characters from the show, then build a team of your favourites and set off on intergalactic adventures.

That's where the turn-based battling comes in. On your way you'll face enemies, and have to defeat them in old school RPG style.

We let the App Army loose on Worlds of Tomorrow to learn their thoughts. Here's what they had to say.

Laura Egri

It's a quest-based sim / strategy game involving all of the characters from Futurama. The gameplay is pretty standard: complete tasks, unlock new characters and buildings, and level everything up.

As you play you'll unlock more stuff, but you'll either have to grind for the items you want or buy IAPs. There's a story as well which is full of space traveling and alien combat. The combat is very similar to classic JRPGs and you have complete control over it it.

Everything handles smoothly, and for the most part you're simply tapping on stuff to collect, expand, build, navigate, or fight. The graphics are colourful and the whole set is quirky with funny outcomes and dialogue.

If you're a fan of Futurama and don't mind investing some time in a grinding sim with light combat elements, this is worth trying.

All glory to the hypnotoad. These games are all pretty samey, but that's not a criticism if you like these games. It's similar to the Family Guy game, with solid humour and a decent overall goal to hook you in so that eventually, and probably fairly quickly, you will need to spend money to progress quickly through the game.

I haven't got to that point yet but that tends to be my experience with these games. I'll play until that point and then unless there is a way to progress well without spending money, I'll probably give up then.

If you like city builders and Futurama then I'm pretty sure you'll like this game. It's not really introducing anything new but from what I have played it's fun.

It's clearly designed to get you to spend money so all your normal pitfalls are here to entice you to drop a few pounds here and there.

I have to say I'm enjoying it so far but I'm more the jump in, jump out sort of player which helps elongate these games.

Worlds of Tomorrow? More like worlds from yesterday.

It has the humour of the TV series but I expected that after playing the Family Guy and The Simpsons versions. Fool me once, Tinyco.

It's pretty much another city builder with some fighting elements to break up the usual gameplay. I'm honestly tired of these games.

I really hoped it was more like the new South Park game that, while being a card collector fighting game, still offers some excitement.

And best of all I don't have to build anything.
