Angry Birds Islands sticks birds and piggies on a mysterious island, and it's soft-launched now in select countries

In case you were looking for some Angry Birds action (don't take that out of context), Angry Birds Islands is currently soft-launched in Japan and Taiwan.

Create your very own island for your birds and piggies to enjoy, and hopefully not go flinging themselves at one another. In this management/building sim, you've got to explore the area around you - including nine nearby islands - and collect resources like fish, wood, and mana to create valuable items.

Of course, it isn't a mysterious island without some horrific monsters so you'd best keep an eye out, and fight them if it comes down to it.

So far the game's only available on the App Store in the aforementioned territories, but check out our handy guide on making a foreign iTunes account if you simply can't wait to play. Angry Birds Islands has also been soft-launched on Google Play.
