If you guys have been turning in to today's Samsung Unpacked, you'll know about all of the neat innards and qualities coming with the industry giant's latest smartphone.

After the disaster that was the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (which your humble news writer found herself neck-deep in), it's a nervous time for Samsung. One can't help but notice the fact that they're reinstating how high 'safety' is on their priority list.

Pretty much everything was summed up in Jon Mundy's earlier article, but now we know that the phone will be going on sale on April 21st, with pre-orders starting as soon as tomorrow, March 30th.

The two phones, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, feature the brand-new infinity display - a huge curved glass screen which has essentially rid the phone of its bezel, clipping off almost all of its head and tail. The physical home button has also disappeared, and has instead been replaced with a pressure sensitive point at the bottom of the screen.

Samsung has also included such features as their iris sensor - which was actually very useful in the Note 7 - and now face recognition. There will also be several colours, but sadly only two will be available in the UK - Midnight Black and Orchid Grey.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will retail at £679, and the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will be a slightly pricier £779. Both phones will come with a pair of AKG headphones worth $99 at retail so, yes, there's still a headphone jack.
