SteamWorld Dig 2 has been announced for the Nintendo Switch

One of the most exciting games to rear its head in the Nindies Showcase was definite the eagerly anticipated SteamWorld Dig 2.

Back by popular demand, Image & Form Games has revealed that the platform mining adventure, SteamWorld Dig 2, will be coming to the Switch later this year. Join a lone steambot and her unlikely companion as she searches for her lost friend. Dig deep, gain riches, and explore a word riddled with danger.

According to the press release, the game not only provides a sequel worth waiting for, but also states that they've also implemented the Switch's unique technologies, like the HD Rumble and Joy Cons.

There's not too much information about the game just yet, but it definitely looks like an excellent platformer no doubt filled with challenges. SteamWorld Dig 2 is so far slated to release summer 2017.
