[Update] Gold-Award winning word game Spelltower gets its first update since 2012 and it's a big one

Spelltower became quite the phenomenon when it launched. Critically acclaimed and seen at the top of the charts, it catered to our needs to make words in order to erase them from the board.

It's made by Zack Gage that you might know from such titles like Really Bad Chess or Sage Solitaire and, as you can see, he's built quite a reputation with all those games.

He's now returning to Spelltower, a game that hasn't been updated since 2012 on iOS, with a brand new dictionary (thanks to a collaboration with Merriam-Webster) and he's also improving the game's multiplayer by adding online play. Graphics have also been improved and now take advantage of the latest iPhones and Ipads, including a new mode built specifically for the iPad Pro 12"'s massive screen dubbed "Super Tower Mode".

If you've yet to check out the game, you'll be pleased to know that a web version called "Spelltower Minutes" has been released and can be played here.

The update will be available on February 9th.
