Retroarch gets a big update on Android and iOS with Netplay, Vulkan support and more
|

Retroarch has been hailed by many as the best retro emulator on Mobile and it's about to get even better as a big update has just been released in its stable form.

Dubbed 1.4.1, it adds cross-platform netplay, which means that any game supporting local multiplayer (Streets of Rage for example) can now be played over the internet with a friend.

That's massive and it seems like it's working quite well already. The developers are looking to add a friend list system, voice chat and more.

On top of plenty of other quality of life improvements, Retroarch is now also compatible with the low-level Vulkan API for the N64 and PSX emulators. This means that any device compatible with Vulkan should see quite a boost in framerate.

You can get Retroarch here or on Cydia for iOS (your device will have to be jailbroken though.)
