You're all probably aware by now that Super Mario Run's running an in-game mega event for the next couple of weeks. If you're not, well, keep on reading.

After it felt like Super Mario Run sort-of disappeared from the world a bit, Nintendo made it abundantly clear that we wouldn't be getting any content updates. Updates and events, however, are fair game, so at least we've still got those to look forward to.

Running from the 1st to the 20th February, the Golden Goomba event brings the shiny, golden beasts into the game's World Tour mode. They'll show up throughout the game's courses, especially in the later stages (a nod to those who actually bought the full game), and dish out 30 bonus coins for each Goomba you defeat.

As well as raking in a bunch of in-game coins, you'll also collect stamps equal to the number of golden Goombas defeated. If you complete the full card, you'll get a special building for the Kingdom Builder mode.

If you fancy taking part, grab Super Mario Run here on the App Store. Hopefully there won't be too long left to wait on the Android version, but we'll see.
