Image & Form, the developer of SteamWorld Heist/Dig, has just announced that in 2017 we'll be getting our hands on a brand new SteamWorld title.
The devs chat about it very, very briefly in episode 22 of The Engine Room and give nothing away - well, other than that the game will be shown at PAX East in Boston. One would imagine that the game will follow a similar thread to the previous titles but might feature some new characters.
Apart from the imminent game, Image & Form will also be bringing back their SteamWorld Ambassador challenges, in which we (the public) will be able to help with the games, i.e. draw characters, write lore, etc. This time for keeps.
Even if this newest project turns out to be PC/console only, let's hope they've not closed the door on bringing it to mobile devices eventually. I think everyone can agree that they slayed it with SteamWorld Heist.
