| The Bug Butcher

We're edging ever so slightly closer to Christmas. The days are getting colder, the nights longer.

But it's not all that bad, as Pocket Gamer is celebrating the festive season by giving away free codes for the biggest and best premium games mobile had to offer this year. You can find out more info by reading the introduction to the first day's post.

And today's offering is The Bug Butcher, an aptly-titled action shooter in which you slaughter hundreds of nasty little alien insects.

Why?

Well, you play as the mercenary Harry, who's been shipped out to the planet Zoit to exterminate a bunch of nasty bugs which are threatening the lives of a dwindling number of scientists who are based there for research purposes.

So you'll move from room to room, blasting away waves of insects with a variety of explosive weaponry, and collecting coins used to upgrade your arsenal - all in gorgeous and slick comic book-style 2D visuals.

At review, we absolutely adored it - giving it a Gold Award and describing it as: "A bright cartoony shooter with an awful lot going for it. Grab it, shoot stuff".

Okay, I'll grab it then

Hey, not so fast. First you have to join the App Army here, then post your name as it appears on Facebook in the comments, along with your preference between an iOS and Android code.

Then the lucky selected few will receive their code within one working day, and be announced on the App Army Facebook page.

The App Army is Pocket Gamer's very own community of mobile game experts. Each week, we provide them with a bunch of free codes and early access to the hottest upcoming games so they can provide their thoughts in features like this. We also host regular community-driven events with them in mind like tournaments, giveaways, and multiplayer evenings. To join, simply follow this link to the page on Facebook and request access. We'll get you in right away!
