Each week, we get early access to an exciting upcoming mobile game and give it to a select few hardened mobile gaming experts that make up the App Army. We then feed these thoughts back to you, our audience, so you know whether it's worth your time or not. Gamer to gamer.

Today we are letting the army get to grips with Jasper's Rocket, a nifty endless flier in which, as a cat, take control of a spaceship collecting and collect a bunch of bananas.

Wait, what?

You can pick up the game from the App Store.

Kainen Ryan

There's no shortage of endless runners on the App Store, so to stick out from the crowd you have to offer something new.

Unfortunately, Jasper's Rocket doesn't bring anything new to the table and feels pointless. The controls are basic, the gameplay is simply boring, and the enemies pose no threat.

It could be improved by adding some extra objectives, or stuff to unlock or upgrade. These features are included in pretty much every successful endless runner.

Ed Davis

First impressions were rather good. I liked the graphics and was quite engaged. I need to play it for a little longer to see if I can really get into it.

Overall, nothing new has been brought to the table. But it is fun to just sit and play.

Oksana Ryan

As much as I tried I just couldn't get enthused - it feels quite clunky. None of the features are well thought out either. For example, if you fly too high it's game over .

I'm no rocket scientist but a space ship that can't fly high doesn't make sense. It's not a terrible game, just simply not for me.

Matt King

This has to be one of the most tedious games I've played in a long time. It lacks any challenging aspects and feels very slow.

You control a rocket that must maintain low altitude while collecting bananas, and failing to do either causes the game to end.

If you manage to stay awake for the first few levels there's a slight challenge, but it's more likely you'll crash out of boredom long before then.

Tom Clark

I agree with Matt King 100%. I'm a fan of endless runners and relaxing games but this was far too frustrating.

The graphics are good and the sound is tolerable, but the gameplay needs work. As it is, it's simply not very entertaining.
