App Army Assemble: Crooked Path: Infinity Run

Can it go the distance?

App Army Assemble: Crooked Path: Infinity Run

Crooked Path: Infinity Run - much like Shadow Bug Rush - is an endless spin off of the recent isometric zigzaggy endless runner, Crooked Path.

And it's an idea that totally makes sense. Once you've figured out a level in the original Crooked Path, the challenge is completely over. You know exactly when to tap to turn.

In this endless variant you're kept on your toes every step of the way, which results in an endlessly challenging experience.

There won't be a Pocket Gamer review of this one, though you can check out our thoughts on the original Crooked Path. Or, you can read on to learn what our expert community members in the App Army made of it.

This is just another endless runner that doesn't bring anything new to the genre. You tap to turn 90 degrees and stay on a path, picking up coins along the way to unlock cosmetic items.

The path is certainly crooked here, but it won't keep you playing for infinity.

Laura Egri

It's a good time waster. I like the scenery and the controls are solid - though they do take some getting used to.

Otherwise it has nothing special to offer. No innovation or hook to keep you playing for long.

Kainen Ryan

I'd argue it's better than Crooked Path. Because you're only shown parts of the track and it's constantly changing it's much more challenging. You have to think really fast.

Oksana Ryan

This game requires extreme precision because if you tap too soon or late you'll fall to your death.

Your destination unfolds as you run along and the pace quickens the further you get. There are colourful backdrops and the change of course each run gives variety.

There is very little to set it apart from others in the genre but it's great for short spurts. It quickly becomes repetitive though, and I soon got bored.

Randy Hope

My running in this game is nowhere near infinity. The stark angular look is really great. What I was able to hear of the soundtrack was swell but I was unable to hear much of it due to my skill level.

People with great reflexes and good depth perception will excel and enjoy Infinity Run. I will continue to fall down a lot and wonder what the rest of the music sounds like.

Sjoerd de Jong

The original game reminded me enough of ZigZag by Ketchapp, but the sequel actually is ZigZag, just with polished visuals and more depth.

Ethan Harold

I quite like this game! It's not that different from other endless runners, but I still enjoyed playing it. Although the ads are annoying.
