Gamescom 2016 - Oh… Sir! The Insult Simulator is a weird and wonderful abuse-em-up, coming soon to iOS and Android
How dare you?!
Vile Monarch's Oh… Sir! The Insult Simulator was possibly the weirdest game I saw at gamescom this year.
Picture a fighting game - like Street Fighter or Tekken - except to hurt someone you don't punch them, or kick them, or throw bins at them.
You insult them.
You and your opponent have a shared pool of words and phrases you can use, plus your own personal selection. You then take turns to piece together a coherent and abusive message to hurl at the other person.
Each character has weaknesses, plus there are critical hits and even combos: insult your opponent's mother three turns in a row, for example, and you'll get a hefty damage bonus.
Playing in local multiplayer mode made me laugh more in five minutes than most games manage over an entire campaign.
What can I say, I just like being rude to people.
Oh… Sir! The Insult Simulator is coming to iOS and Android later this summer, and will feature cross platform play between those systems as well as with PC and Mac.
