Each week, we get early access to an exciting upcoming game and give it to a select few hardened mobile gaming experts that make up the App Army. We then feed these thoughts back to you, our audience, so you know whether it's worth your time or not. Gamer to gamer.

This week we're looking at the newly-released Sleepy Mouse, a physics-based puzzler. The aim of the game is to get the wheel of cheese into our sleeping mouse before he wakes up HANGRY.

You can get the game free on iTunes, and read our review of it here - but what did the App Army think of it?

It does what it says on the tin, I guess. Visually it's clean, and being free to download it's worth a shot. I can see people playing this when they have only very brief periods to play, e.g. waiting in line, on a quick bus-ride, or something like that.

It could have a lot more polish. Some levels are very difficult to play on a phone-sized screen (even a Plus model of the iPhone), and if you have bigger hands, that's a double whammy for fine control. I would have liked to have more blank space on the sides to write your name - I mean - set the angle and power.

I like the concept but perhaps it's best played on a tablet. Unfortunately since this is the sort of gameplay you're more likely to play on the go, I don't know where that leaves things for the average player. This is not the level of quality I'd support the developer for via IAP.

I had a blast with this. The graphics were pretty good and the challenges were enough to keep me engaged. For puzzle lovers, this will keep you entertained for some time.

Give it a good try and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

It's a fun game to play if you're into physics puzzles. I like that it involves thinking and not just sheer luck.

The biggest issue for me is that it's not very challenging; on some levels it's not very challenging at all. The game's accuracy isn't the best, but there were no bugs.

But the graphics and the character makes you want to spend some time on it. Maybe they'll add some harder levels in future updates.

The levels have to be planned within a certain amount of moves, and the odd one or two can be a challenge. Most were very easy. There's an option that comes up if you can't complete a level that allows you to watch an ad to skip it, but it isn't really necessary as all levels are do-able.

The only criticism I have is the aiming because it's difficult to shoot with real accuracy - which leads to losing sheep. Also, it never really shoots with any force which can be annoying.

All in all, I found this to be a good game which could do with a few tweaks. I enjoyed playing it.

So, this is a nice game - simple, with a pinch of fun stuff...but only just. It's too easy and too basic.

Without ranting, they could have added so many things to make it more fun and appealing visually. It's a shame it has so much going for it, they just needed to dig a little deeper.

Sleepy Mouse is a pretty neat game. Puzzlers are my favourite genre, and this game does it justice. The puzzles are fun and have a lot of variety. Normally with these types of games it gets a lot of trial-and-error as you progress, but I didn't have that feeling with this one Every level has to be planned out carefully.

Being two years in development, however, I did expect something more. The physics aren't very accurate, which is quite annoying if you have to execute a complicated move. The difficulty is really low as well. Most levels I managed to complete with only one life (sheep) left. Because of this I'd managed to complete the whole game is just one hour.

Sleepy Mouse might not be flawless, but it's a very enjoyable experience overall.
