Super Rock Games's Pixel Soccer could be a good substitute for Fifa on your iPad

Pixel Soccer is a minimal and clean pixelated experience with plenty of potential (and a bit of a Fifa flare about it). Lucky for you it's coming to iPad later this year.

Inspired by games like Sensible Soccer and Kick Off, indie developer Super Rock Games posted their first gameplay video of Pixel Soccer earlier today with promises of more to come monthly. Watched from a birds-eye perspective, the game plays fluidly judging on the snippet provided while accompanied by a retro soundtrack.

Though the game is still in development, Super Rock will be holding their next bout of testing soon so keep an eye on their forum page if you'd like to participate in any future tests. Due to the nature of the game, the developer decided against releasing it for iPhone as a bigger screen is needed to the ultimate experience.

We can expect the iPad version later this year with the potential of Xbox, PC, Mac, and Linux coming late 2016/early 2017. We'll update you when more information becomes available.
