Telltale's The Walking Dead season three will be accessible to new players as well as seasoned veterans

Telltale Games has been very generous at this previous week alongside San Diego Comic Con. With a release date for Minecraft episode seven, the first trailer and release date for Batman: A Telltale Series, Telltale has further previewed season three of The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead has been a bitter-sweet ride for Telltale fans. With season one tearing into our hearts and emotions so deep that the finale brought us to tears, season two was highly anticipated and well received.

Season three apparently takes a different route. Following on from the same story as seasons one and two, this season will serve as an entry point for new fans of the series that haven't quite gotten the gist of everything yet.

We'll follow our tough-girl Clementine, now older and sheltering young AJ (who we'll recognise from season two), and newcomer Javier. Both characters will be playable but not necessarily within the same frame of time.

The introduction of Javier gives newcomers to the series an area of level footing with seasoned veterans. New to the catastrophe, Javier is so far unknown in the series and all he wants to do is keep his family together – well we all know what happens in those situations.

We'll keep you updated with further news regarding The Walking Dead season three. Until then you can check out Telltale's website here to find out more about their titles, and join the patient wait for the premiere coming later this autumn.
