Each week, we ask members of our App Army for their impressions of the latest releases on mobile.

This week we're looking at TV Sports Soccer - an endless goal-scorer - which is now available on iOS devices, including Apple TV.

James

I like the idea of the game, though I feel the movement of the player could be better. I like that you can kick the ball to the edge of the pitch and still continuing playing. The passing also seems great.

Andrew

TV Sports Soccer will be my claim to fame!

Edward

I've only played a few games so far, but it's a nice simple game. My only issue is that because your thumbs are always on the screen, if the ball is passed to far left or right then they tend to cover the action onscreen. Maybe I'm putting my thumbs in the wrong place?

Andrew

The concept is easy to grasp and the controls work well on touchscreen. It's definitely difficult to master though. You use the left side of the screen to control players and the right side to kick the ball.

Aaron

I'm surprised. I was actually expecting to hate this as i'm not really an endless-runner fan, but it's executed really well and keeps me coming back for more. The controls are spot on as well. I'm definitely looking forward to trying this on Apple TV.

Andrew

The first thing I noticed was the aesthetic and how alluring it is. I'm a sucker for a nice colour palette! I also spent far too much time in the kit customiser.

Edward

It's a nice looking game. The idea is simple and it's strangely addictive. Though it's very limited in terms of variety.

Andrew

You have to guide your team to the opposing team's net and score to gain points. When you score, you pass the ball through to the team on the next pitch.

Pitch designs change from level to level, and the action speeds up as you progress. The game also places an emphasis on passing combos to further boost your score count.

I'm a fan of both football and endless runners, so this is like a dream combination for me. The overarching design is really appealing.

There were moments in the game when I made a couple of good passes and it made me feel the sort of joy I'd get from scoring in FIFA or getting a last gasp winner on Football Manager.

Matt

Sorry to say, I'm not getting the love at all. There doesn't seem to be any sense of progression here and the passing is fairly unreliable.

I'll often find myself passing miles away when I was aiming for a much safer, closer pass. The graphics are nice and clear, and the colour scheme is varied, but every time I lost, I just felt 'ugh, not again,' rather than 'just one more go.'

90% of my losses felt like the game robbed me rather than it being my own fault.

James

True. I do find the passing and shooting a bit off. The dribbling is great, though.

Andrew

Rank 9!

Aaron

I have to agree with Matt - my initial love of the game has started to wear off. To be honest, it gets a bit dull after a while and I don't really feel compelled to come back to it.

It's an ok game. Actually, it's a really nice idea, and if you love endless-style games you’ll almost certainly love this.

Unfortunately, I'm just losing a bit of interest. Possibly due to a lack of progression as Matt says.

Andrew

My only gripe is that the ball can move off the screen, leaving me unable to follow its path.

Other than that, I'd say if you enjoy endless runners and love football, you absolutely should buy this beautiful game!
