A new Bethesda studio opens in Montreal, to focus on mobile games
|

Bethesda has opened up a brand new studio in Montreal, Quebec to expand its existing base of operations. Most excitingly, the studio will have a strong mobile gaming focus.

The core team has already been established and will feature some 40 developers, all of whom cover both console and mobile gaming development.

As Todd Howard puts it, "We’ve worked with some very talented developers in Montreal for a long time, and decided it was time to open a studio there" - Fair's fair.

Studio development will be headed up by Yves Lachance. Yves is known for leading on several mobile titles, as well as the Warhammer 40k MMO and additional Bethesda PC and console titles.

Bethesda currently has a number of positions open for the new studio which you can check out here. Unfortunately, the listings don't give us any clues as to what's next, though we do already know about an Elder Scrolls themed card game coming in 2016.
