Out now: Neon Drive takes us back to the stunning 1980's vision of the future
Cyber grid and hot wheels
In the 1980s, the future was seen in neon lights and metal people. Think The Lawnmower Man, The Terminator, Ghost in the Shell. It was pretty wild.
Neon Drive is a game that takes all that imagery and spreads it out over the course of lane dodger.
Yes, it's just another lane dodger, but geez, look at this thing.
A shiny sports car barrels through a dazzling cityscape in deep purple while a retro-synth tune hums away.
You go through cyber grids, metallic tunnels, and whiz by electronic renditions of paradise. There are even Space Invaders-like alien ship bosses.
This is all about appearances (much like the techno-capitalistic '80s) and it's a wonderful tribute to the cyber future we thought we'd be living in now some 30-odd years ago.
You can download Neon Drive for free on the App Store right now.
