Where'd all the pixels go?

Double Fine will be bringing Day of the Tentacle Remastered to PS Vita, PS4 (with cross-buy), and PC in early 2016.

The 1993 point-and-click adventure and LucasArts classic will have remastered sound and a new (optional) modern interface.

It'll also have the original Maniac Mansion (the game this is a sequel to) for you to play. Plus, commentary from the original creators will be available to listen to inside the game.

Oh, and let's not forget, it'll have new art, too. You can have a look at that below. It mostly smooths out all the pixels so it looks more like an animated cartoon.

You'll be able to switch between using the old art style and this new art if you wish. Nostalgia should be delivered in big doses either way.

Before getting to the screenshots, if you don't know, Day of the Tentacle follows a group of friends as they time travel in order to stop an evil purple tentacle from taking over the world.

Now, to the art (there's a screenshot comparison right at the bottom)...
