Unity will be helping to bring a lot more games to Apple TV in the near future.

The company has already worked with Hipster Whale to ensure Crossy Road works on Apple's new doohickey. We saw the game in action during the Apple TV announcement.

Now Unity has announced that it's working with focus groups to ensure that other developers can easily bring their games to Apple TV.

"TV in general is quite different in terms of how content is presented, consumed and interacted, which makes it more accurate to treat it as a separate platform rather than extension of the iOS platform," Unity said.

On top of that, tvOS is quite different to iOS due to it missing numerous frameworks and having different requirements.

That's something for game developers to worry about, though. What about us players?

Well, Unity has become one of the most popular game engines among developers in recent years. That's mostly down to its accessibility and cross-platform capabilities.

Some games you might know that were developed in Unity include: Monument Valley, Lara Croft: Relic Run, I Am Bread, Hitman Sniper, The Room Three, and Unkilled.

There are plenty more where those came from, too. And if Unity gets this porting process down and made easy we could see a lot of them arriving on Apple TV.
