Apple announced the new iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, and iPad Pro last week but didn't give all the hardware details. That hasn't stopped people finding them out.

Developer Hamza Sood rather smartly used the Xcode iOS simulator to discover what RAM the new Apple phones and tablet will have.

According to Apple Insider, Sood ran a small test application "containing three images, which are included or excluded dynamically based on the amount of RAM available."

This revealed that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus should have 2GB of RAM. The iPad Pro, on the other hand, should have 4GB of RAM.

These are significant improvements compared to previous iPhones. The iPhone 5, 5s, 6, and 6 Plus each only had 1GB of RAM. Apple seems to have doubled that for the iPhone 6s.

The iPad Pro, of course, doubles that again at 4GB of RAM. The advantages of more RAM is that your phone (or tablet) can handle running more apps at once.

So you can be playing a game, pause it, check your tweets, then your email, open up another game, get bored of that one, and then return to the first game you were playing without losing any progress.

You can be a multitasking monster and your new iPhone or iPad shouldn't even flinch, hopefully.
