EA removes even more classic iOS games from the App Store
Part of iOS gaming history up and vanishes
EA has pulled a number of mobile gaming classics from the App Store.
We noted last Friday that Dead Space and Mass Effect Infiltrator had gone missing.
Now it's become apparent that more titles have been removed. Here's the full list:
- Bejeweled 2
- Burnout Crash!
- Dead Space
- Don't Fall Off
- Flight Control
- Flight Control Rocket
- Fly With Me
- Lemonade Tycoon
- Mass Effect Infiltrator
- MMA
- Need for Speed Shift
- Real Racing
- The Sims Medieval
- Skate It
- Spore Creatures
- Spore Origins
- Spy Mouse
EA has stated that the reason for it removing all these titles is due to a recent shift in focus.
"We are focusing our efforts on developing new and exciting titles, as well as bringing new content and updates to existing popular games," EA stated.
It's a shame given that some of these titles helped to shape mobile gaming as we know it today.
That's both in how they drew huge audiences and, as Vlambeer's Rami Ismail said of Flight Control, showed developers "what kind of interactions & play made iOS games unique."
