Trick Shot - Fun, floaty, flawed

| Trick Shot

Trick Shot, by Monument Valley artist Jonathan Topf, is gleefully pointless.

The aim is to get a ball into a box, using a Worms-esque pull-back-and-let-go mechanic. As you progress, the game introduces walls, fans, portals, buttons, moving parts, and so on.

The stages get more challenging, but the difficulty curve is uneven, with robust but floaty ball physics and unforgiving geometry frequently resulting in long periods of tedious trial and error – often followed by gratifying holes-in-one.

But if you've ever wasted an afternoon trying simply to throw a thing into another thing you'll understand the appeal of this casual game.

Trick Shot - Fun, floaty, flawed

Trick Shot would be a bit more satisfying if it had weightier ball physics and less demanding stages, but it's still a solid time-waster
