Stone Story is an upcoming RPG for iOS and Android, that combines unusual gameplay with a hand-animated ASCII art style.

In Stone Story, you travel through dangerous realms like the Caves of Fear and the Sleepless Tower, facing enemies and towering bosses along the way.

But the twist is that you don't directly control your character. Rather, you select a location and then choose which weapons, items, and skills to use as he moves through the levels and encounters creatures.

Adding depth to the gameplay is the plethora of equipment you can use. Along with stat-boosting potions, you can wield weapons in each hand, including swords, shields, whips, and boomerangs.

Magic lets you unleash tornadoes, lightning, fireballs, and other devastating attacks. Torches and keys allow you to explore new areas, perhaps finding new loot for future quests.

Enemies range from spiders and bats to massive bosses that loom over your character. Smart use of your equipment will help you survive these challenging battles.

Stone Story will be releasing in 2016 for iOS and Android devices. You can follow the game's development through its TIGSource devlog.
