Gunfinger developer Pixel Toys is the latest studio to bag the Warhammer license. And it's working on a tap-to-shoot action game for mobile called Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade.

You'll take command of a colossal armoured war mech called an Imperial Knight. Or, at least, you'll take control of its weapon systems.

The mech stomps through levels automatically, allowing you to focus on shooting by tapping, double tapping, and multi tapping on enemies. It's all about timing, precision skill, and using the right weapon at the right moment.

Freeblade

The game will have 40 levels to play, plus procedurally generated Patrol missions. You'll also get to upgrade, equip, and customise your war machine.

Check out the trailer above for more, or go read our full hands-on preview with the game. Freeblade is out on iOS and Android this autumn.
