You likely already know that Angry Birds Epic characters have had a quick stint in SEGA's auto-runner Sonic Dash.

What you may not know is that Rovio's bird-themed casual RPG will be getting a hint of the Blue Blur in return, and it's coming in a month.

At Respawn in Cologne Ellen Lyse Einarsen, the Project Lead at Angry Birds Epic developer Chimera, explained that Sonic would be stopping by in their game in the coming month.

The next free update will include a special Sonic Dash-themed map, complete with loop-the-loops and other Sonic The Hedgehog style paraphernalia.

The update will also include whole new classes, skills, and gear for the birds. Chuck will be the first character to receive one of these new classes, though Ellen wasn't ready to divulge exactly what that class would be.

However, speaking with her after the event, she noted that every bird currently in the game would receive a new class by the end of February 2016. Ellen also suggested that if they were to bring a new character into the Angry Birds Epic flock, she would want it to be Stella, rather than Angry Birds 2 newbie Silver.

We've also been told that the next update adds weapon enchanting, more Chronicles Caves, and world boss events.

If you're a Chinese mobile gamer then you'll be pleased to know that a version of Angry Birds Epic is coming to an app store near you at the end of August. It'll be a slightly tweaked version of the game, with a re-worked user interface, some changed IAPs, and a new puzzle piece collection mechanic.
