If Apple called its thinnest and lightest iPad the "Air", then what are we going to call Samsung's new device - which is 0.5mm thinner and 48 grams lighter than the Air 2?

We'd go with the Samsung Atom, if we were in charge of marketing. But we're not. So it's called the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Evidently, we should be in charge of marketing.

Like the Tab S, it's got that gorgeous 2048x1536 Super AMOLED display. There's an 8-inch version like before, but the 10.5 inch big boy has shrunken down to 9.7 inches. Must be chilly.

Under the hood you'll find an octacore processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32 or 64GB of internal memory. And as for software, you'll get Android 5.0 with TouchWiz - which adds multi-app multi-tasking and the usual Samsung gumpf.

The tablet has also got a pair of cameras, a fingerprint scanner, and a Micro SD card port for more space.

The Tab S2 will be available everywhere starting from August. Looks like a good shout for Android gamers. You can get all the specs over at Samsung's site.
