Remember Swipey Rogue? We covered it back in January as it looks like a promising little game.

Well, the creator has got in touch with us to let us know that it should be out on iOS in August with an Android version hopefully coming soon after.

The game has you running through puzzle dungeons by swiping to change the direction of an auto-running rogue from a top-down view.

It has a couple of different modes to try out. One gives you 200 hand-crafted challenges to beat while the other makes use of procedural generation for an endless run.

The idea is to quickly plan out a strategy to get through the each room without dying. This is made difficulty to due to having to avoid traps.

You can also choose to engage enemies or ignore them and collect health or gold if it's available. Making these decisions in a timely manner is what the game is all about.

You can see an example of the Challenge Saga mode (the one with hand-crafted levels) in the video below.

We also found out that the person making Swipey Rogue is John Sahas. He previously worked for 12 years on console games including Tony Hawk's Skateboarding, Guitar Hero, and Call of Duty.

Earlier this year he got out of that and started making Swipey Rogue. So it'll be his first solo game, then.

As said, Swipey Rogue should be out next month. It'll be free to download with ad-support. And there'll be a single 79p / 99c IAP if you want to remove the ads.
